§1 US 9,210,129

Systems and Methods for Providing a Multiple Secure Link Architecture

Inventor: Jack D. McKinney · Issued 8 December 2015 · Filed 6 February 2014

A client workstation holds VPN tunnels to two different organizations' gateways at the same time. For traffic arriving from an owner's network, a twin network address translator records the sender's private address and assigns it a unique private IP address before delivering it to the workstation. This lets the workstation reach several private networks at once, even where their address ranges overlap.

§2 US 9,258,226

Systems and Methods for Dual Network Address Translation

Inventors: Jack Dennis McKinney, Richard Lee McKinney · Issued 9 February 2016 · Earliest priority 2 January 2013

A network operations center sits between remote users and an organization's private network, using two VPN tunnels. Traffic from a user's workstation arrives through the first tunnel carrying a unique private address assigned for that user. The center removes the VPN encryption, and a twin network address translator replaces that address with the organization's own private address. The traffic is then wrapped in a private protocol that carries the public source and destination addresses and sent on to the destination through a second tunnel.

§3 US 9,276,847

Systems and Methods for Providing a ReNAT Virtual Private Network

Inventors: Jack Dennis McKinney, Richard Lee McKinney · Issued 1 March 2016 · Earliest priority 2 January 2013

A network operations center runs a virtual private network inside itself. It receives packets from a workstation on an organization's private network and tags them with source addressing that identifies which network they came from. A twin network address translator gives each user a private address that is unique within the center, even where it overlaps an address the organization already uses. A session manager maps that address to a public one. The center decrypts the data and forwards it between the workstation and a remote device across a wide area network.

§4 US 9,407,548

ReNAT Systems and Methods

Inventors: Jack Dennis McKinney, Richard Lee McKinney · Issued 2 August 2016 · Earliest priority 2 January 2013

Address translation is split between the user's workstation and a network operations center. A translation client on the workstation converts addresses before the traffic leaves. At the center, a twin network address translator converts between the organization's own private addresses and unique private addresses, which may overlap the organization's addresses but are unique within the center. The traffic is then mapped back to the organization's addresses, encrypted, and delivered to its private network.

§5 US 9,680,792

ReNAT Systems and Methods

Inventors: Jack Dennis McKinney, Richard Lee McKinney · Issued 13 June 2017 · Earliest priority 2 January 2013

A continuation of US 9,407,548. Its independent claims 1 and 7 recite a “ReNAT private network component” that provides the source address. A translation client on the user's workstation converts addresses before the traffic leaves. At a network operations center, a twin network address translator converts between the organization's own private addresses and unique private addresses, which may overlap the organization's addresses but are unique within the center. The traffic is then mapped back to the organization's addresses and delivered to its private network.

ReNAT Systems and Methods

Inventors: Jack Dennis McKinney, Richard Lee McKinney · Issued 12 May 2020 · Earliest priority 2 January 2013

A continuation of US 9,680,792. Its independent claims 1 and 7 recite a “ReNAT private network component” that provides the source address. A translation client on the workstation converts addresses before the traffic leaves. At a network operations center, a twin network address translator converts between the organization's own private addresses and unique private addresses, which may overlap the organization's address space but are unique within the center. The traffic is then mapped back to the organization's addresses and delivered to its private network.
